New Fiscal Year 2011
Last Thursday was the end of another fiscal year for CABTAL and SIL Cameroon. All the people involved tin the finances offices of these organizations are busy working
to close the Year and then to prepare reports to be sent to partner agencies. So please pray for Bert Visser, Leah Ebanja, Laure Angele Kenmogne and other people in the SIL
finance Office who are working hard to produce the reports. Pray that all who need to send in reports (narrative and financial) will do it in a timely manner. Pray for all those involved in finance to be able to pay attention to small details and hand in accurate work.
Planning Sessions (RB-SPAR)
With the New Fiscal Year that has started, another planning cycle started on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 with the Tunen, Ngomba and Ngombale Projects. Praise God for the plan that has been developed for the three projects. The Planning session for Tchouvok and Pana will take place early November in Maroua. Moise Yonta will be coordinating
the Results Based Strategic Planning and Review sessions in Maroua. Pray that God will guide the teams in implementing the various activities and pray also for God's provision for all kind of resources (spiritual, human, material and financial) to carry out these activities.
Point Persons Training in Yaoundé
There is a point persons’ training coming up on October 29, 2010 in Yaoundé. This will be an opportunity to work with those who are serving as contact people from their churches but also an opportunity to equip them to be more involved in our outreach ministry to urban churches here in Yaoundé. Pray that many will be able to attend and pray for a good time together.
Global Leaders' Meetings
Praise God for the Global Leaders' meetings for Wycliffe and SIL worldwide that took place from September 27 to October 3, 2010 in Singapore. Praise God for the good resolutions and pray for journey mercies for all participants as they are fly back to their various countries and organizations.
Denya and Kenyang New Testament Dedication
The Dedication of the Denya and Kenyang New Testament will take place on December 18 for the Denya and 19 for the Kenyang New Testaments. Please pray for the organizing
committees that have been set up in these two communities to organize these dedication. Pray that God will guide them and inspire them. Pray that God will help them to plan and mobilize well. Pray also for God's provision to carry out a successful dedication. Pray for the readiness of the Church and of the communities to receive the Word and to use it.
Bakossi New Testament
Praise God with with the Bakossi team as they have completed their New Testament and are now in Yaounde for the typesetting. Pray that God will help this last process to go well and pray that God will start preparing the Bakossi people for the dedication that will take place in 2011. Pray for Pastor David Ngole and Joseph Nkwelle who are in Yaoundé for the typesetting and pray that God will watch over them and over their families left in Tombel.
Typesetting Center
Pray for the typesetters Georges Patrice Mbeck and Zacharie Essama Messi as they are busy working on different projects: The Bakossi & Yamba New Testaments, eight Old Testament Books in the Tharaka Language (Tanzania), the Psalms in the Mambila language and the
Gangam (from Togo) New Testaments. Praise God for the progresss they are making on these books.
International Literacy Day
Praise for the celebration of the International Literacy Day organized at CABTAL on September 29. Praise God for the turnout and also for those who are now able to read and write their mother tongue and more importantly are able to read the Scriptures in their heart language.
FOBAC Retreat
The Forum of Bible Agencies - Cameroon is organizing a retreat on 11 October 2010. The main item on the agenda will be the coming Church Consultation that was postponed.
It will also serve as an opportunity to evaluate the partnership and work together to foster the Kingdom of God here in Cameroon. Pray that all the partners will be able to attend.
FOBAC Church Consultation
The Church Consultation is being organized and hopefully will take place from November 23-26, 2010. This Consultation will serve as a forum to present the results of a research carried out by these agencies on the use and accessibility of Scriptures in Cameroon. It will also serve as a platform to dialogue and find ways we can work together and do a comprehensive plan for Cameroon. Please pray for the FOBAC member organizations, for efficient and effective preparation. Pray for the organizing committee and the leaders of FOBAC to know what to do. Pray that God will re-order the schedules of church leaders in this country so that they will be able to attend. Pray for
the people organizing this important event to be zealous and encouraged.
Pray for Cameroon
Keep on praying for our countriy, Cameroon as the epidemic of Cholera is spreading. some cases are found here and there in the country. Pray that God will watch over His children here and there.
