General

  • • Praise the Lord for the safe return of the General Director from Europe, USA and Bangui.
    • • Praise God for the printing of the Nomaande New Testament. The shipping of the printed copies of the New Testament left Korea for Cameroon. Pray for adequate preparation in the Nomaande community as they get ready to receive the New Testament.
      • • Evangelist Pierre KAPTEVED, an influential leader in Tchouvok community and a great advocate for Bible translation and Chairman of the Tchouvok Language Committee went to be with the Lord. Pray that God will fill this gap with someone else.
        • • Praise God for the Douala Church Leaders' banquet that took place on May 11, 2009. 106 church leaders, 37 out the 43 churches were represented. Pray for efficient and effective follow-up.
          • • Pray for the upcoming personnel forum that brings together all CABTAL staff and this will take place from June 29 to July 03.
            • • There will be 10 Bible translation Sundays in June. Please pray for the preachers, presenters and all the participants, that God will give them a fruitful ministry in these churches.

Kenyang (Soutth-West)

By June this year, the New Testament will be ready for typesetting.
  • • Pray that the project workers will be in good health so as to carry the work to the end.
    • • Pray that the typesetting will be successful and accurate.
      • • Pray that literacy and SU activities will be intensified during the period of the typesetting and thereafter.
        • • Pray that the reading and writing books will be reprinted to revamp literacy activities.

Lamnso'(North-West)

  • • The Project is in its last phase and many things need to be done. Let’s pray that God would help the Project go through all of these.
    • • Ask the Lord to use the church- based literacy classes and the Lamnso’s School Book Project to bring many lamnso’ speaker to the knowledge of His Son Jesus - Christ.

Tunen (Center)

  • • Pray that the secretary of the project and the adapting team, so that they be more disposed and concentrated in their work.
    • • Pray that God should strengthen the personnel of the project and the Interchurch committee, so that they should attend all working sessions and meetings
      • • Ask God to sustain the Literacy supervisor and Mollet, who are currently going round all literacy classes in Yingui.
        • • Ask the Lord to move the hearts of pastors to be more involved in the project.

Ngombale (West)

  • • Praise God for good progress in translation and literacy
    • • Praise God for our devoted team of available members.
      • • Praise God for the change observed in a few people’s lives after listening to the Christmas story in churches
        • • Pray for a good progress in the remaining steps for the completion of the Luke gospel
          • • Pray that the translation of Scripts and preparations of actors for the Jesus film will be successful.
            • • Pray for continuous spiritual vitality, good testimony, God’s protection, grace and leadership for each project worker.
              • • Pray that many more Ngombale people will listen to God’s word already available in their heart language and respond to His love.

Noni (North West - SIL involvement)

The Noni New Testament draft was finished on February 12, 2009. Now there remains the task of testing, consultant checking, and Review Committee revising of the New Testament draft.
  • • Pray that the Noni translation team will work through all these various tasks for every book of the New Testament.
    • • Pray for health, strength, joy, and grace for the Noni translation team: Jonah Ngwang, Alfred Njinyoh, Protus Nfon, Alfred Kinyang, and David and Cindy Lux
      • • The books of Luke, Acts, James, and Philippians have been printed and are being used in Noni churches. Ask God to give spiritual hunger to all who hear these translated Scriptures in their mother tongue.
        • • The Noni Reading/Writing Book has been revised. It is the book used to teach Noni people who speak some English how to read and write Noni.
          • • Pray for God to help it go through the reprinting process smoothly so that it is available to the people in June 2009.

Baka (East - SIL involvement)

  • • Please pray that the Baka involved in the translation project will gain a vision to continue to work on the project despite the two years of absence of SIL members.
    • • The next task in the project will be to record all our Bible stories and Scripture songs. Pray that we will find all the help we need for this task.

Bamukumbit (North-West - SIL Involvement)


  • • Pray that God would give Bamukumbit believers a vision for Bible Translation in their mother tongue.

    • • Pray that translators would be identified for Bamukumbit.

      • • Pray that many Bamukumbit people will begin learning to read and write in their mother tongue, using the literacy materials that have been developed so far.
