Get your blessings by partaking in His work
We are amazed at how the Lord is using the ministry of Bible translation and community development to transform the lives of many across Cameroon. The Lord is opening up a great opportunity to work with many partners including the churches across the country.
Last year we started building a Regional Training Center with help from our friends Wycliffe Associates. This training center will help us serve communities and churches in the North West, South West and West Regions of Cameroon through capacity building in a wide range of areas including Bible translation, evangelism, discipleship and community development. The regions have one of the highest concentrations of languages in the world. Our work in these three regions started two decades ago. But there are still many communities in the regions that need our support.
We are committed to serving the communities in Cameroon through building the capacity of key persons and working with churches and leaders to give leadership to their own Bible translation and development efforts. This center is very strategic as it will enable us to bring together people from various communities to be trained at the same time. Capacity will be built in the following areas: Bible translation, Evangelism and discipleship, Literacy and community development, spread of basic health knowledge in the mother tongue, Community mobilization, Planning and project management. Besides these the support workers who serve these communities through training, administration, consulting and IT support will also have office space in which to operate. So far an office building and a classroom are being constructed with help from partners.
Our desire is to start operating from the center as from April 2013. But one thing stands in the way. We need a dormitory where community teams can stay during their training at the center. The cost of building the dormitory is 43 million Frs. CFA (or US $86,000.00). The staff members of CABTAL have been contributing five percent of their wages to the development of the ministry. Part of the five percent (15 million Frs CFA or US $30,000.00) of staff contribution is going to the construction of the dormitory so that teams from communities we serve can come to the center to receive vital training.
Please would you join the staff and board members of CABTAL to provide a dormitory for the communities of these regions? I know you are already doing so much for the work. But any special contribution you give towards supporting this effort will be greatly appreciated. Please use the following address in case you have questions regarding the Center. brtc-dorm_cabtal@cabtal.org
